Going to the doctor's is a challenging process for me, however I am so thankful to be able to go as a civilian. Now all of us have experienced expecting something coming to your house or office on a specific day and time. Especially since I had gotten so many reminders of the up-and-coming appointment both texted and emailed. No problem with having to come through the back and having to ring the bell and wait we all know the need for safety.
My problem starts when the door is opened, and the woman comes to the door flushed and tells my son without a greeting to him to put her (me) in there. Feeling like a car that they just found a space to park my son and I had a discussion on how this was not acceptable. But the nurse who came to sign me in was a ray of sun so picking my battles we moved on.
Sitting in the hall waiting for my son to finish the paperwork comes another patient older in a wheelchair. Again, this lady shows up and says put her in there wondering if this woman is able to speak. She has two people with her, and they do as they were told.
1 Peter 2:17 says Respect and honor should be shown to everyone. Even if I was unable to understand this woman, she should have addressed me by name just for the respect of both me and the doctor's office. Sitting in the wheelchair people have looked over my head to the person with me and asked if I could talk. If the person in the wheelchair cannot talk it is proper to address them by name. You never know what the person in the chair hears maybe saying his or her name will awaken something in them.
